Biking : 2003 Adventures : Grand Tour 2003

Bottom

Introduction

I just signed up for the Stockton Motorcycle Club "Grand Tour 2003". I was put onto it by a friend, Carolyn, from Women on Wheels. You might remember that I'm sort of fond of treasure hunts, and this seemed like a really good, fun one to do and help my riding progress beyond those wimpy little baby steps I've been taking.

The Idea

The basic idea is that you have to take your bike to fifty historical markers, placards, etc and take pictures. You have a membership number (I'm waiting for mine, impatiently) which proves you're who you say you are. Then you go explore. At least one marker must be in a different state.

I've already started to mark routes and locations on my maps!

Landmarks Bagged

I'll use this as an "index" for the various landmarks I've bagged. I'll add links to the individual stories where appropriate.
