Introduction
From 1995 to my arrival in the USA, I was involved, in one way or
another, with Pomegranate Products of Somerset: a company which handcrafts
beauty and relaxation products using natural ingredients and which upholds
high ethical and environmentally-friendly standards.
I was a friend of, agent for and even built Web pages for the owner,
Lorraine Smith. At the time of writing, Lorraine and I have long since
lost touch, but this is here because it's entertaining.
In 1996, Lorraine and I put together a sales spiel, combining our love of bikes and
the products in a fun session at her home in Somerset. This is what we came up with:
An irreverent look
Happy Oil and bikers match perfectly, for which biker do you know who doesn't have a
fun time? Apply this oil to knees, fingers and toes - even the nose - before a ride for
hours of tingling warmth. Expecially good for sticking-out pillion knees and as an
added bonus, it's a female aphrodisiac.
Use the Revival range to help you deal with a long ride. Either apply massage oil
before riding to help alleviate cold appendages and 100-mile rictus (regrettably we
must report that this product does not help fixed grins and fly-between-the-teeth
syndrome) or after the ride to relax the aches and prepare for a night's partying.
Alternatively, apply to your co-biker for the helluvit and forget about partying
altogether.
If you're not returning to a tent why not use the Revival bath infusion or herb bath
kit in a nice tempting bath? The bath infusion is ideal for solo bathing but remember
that saving water is environmentally friendly and we all know that motorcycles are
greener than cars. So, use the stronger D.I.Y. herb bath kit and take turns at reading
the scroll. We do recommend that the usual sensible intake of a bath is two
Revivalists, however.
Whether male or female, you can use Revival shampoo for detangling your ponytail. It
can also be used as a facial reviver (lather up a flannel) and as a beard wash.
(If you haven't washed your beard in months, now is a good time to try something new -
change is good. We guarantee that none of our products fade tattoos.) No matter how
clean your helmet is your roots end up greasy and your ends get dry - unless of course
it's been raining for the last sixty miles in which case they get matted. The shampoo
helps with de-greasing your roots and conditioning your ends but we haven't had any
noticeable success with big ends and small ends. Split ends do okay, though.
Apply X.M.A. Cream as a wind barrier before riding (unfortunately, we have no known
cure for bikers' wind.) Use it to get rid of the red spidery cheeks that seem to be a
result of riding or, when your skin dries out, to moisturize.
When you awake the morning after with a raging hangover, simply climb into a delicious
guilt-banishing herbal bath. It's good for banishing toxins and, if you believe half of
what your mates tell you about your antics of the previous night, you need to banish
some guilt as well. Have fun!
A final word: should your biking antics result in rather more than you bargained for
(ask director Lorraine how she knows(!), there's always the
soothing and relaxing Birthing Oil range for the introduction of your next generation
of little bikers.
The Pomegranate ethic (sort of!)
You've all seen the leggy scantily clad women draped across beautiful motorcycles and
spoiling the view. Well, we suppose that they get cold too and so can heartily
recommend the Revival range to them. There must be a certain logic to selling beautiful
bikes with beautiful people, but we prefer to sell beautiful products to
beautiful people. It's nice to think that because all people are beautiful, all our
products are suitable for everyone, because beauty's much more than skin-deep...
Personally, however, we at Pomegranate prefer to see our beautiful bikers sitting
astride the beautiful machines wearing black leather. We've never quite figured out
how the bikini women steer with their feet in any case.
We don't do experiments on animals (though all these products have been tried on bikers,
male and female); we don't condone anyone being cruel to and doing experiments on
animals, and we use fully recyclable packaging and the finest environmentally friendly,
100% natural ingredients. And every single product is made by hand by qualified
aromatherapists!
