Introduction

As you may well know, Annwn, the Wild Wyrd Web Site has been around since Samhain 1996, which is a grand old age for Web sites. This tarot section was among the first few to be created and, since 1996, I've had many fine conversations with readers of tarot and other divination tools.

Some time in 1998, an idea was born for a community that would spring from and expand on Annwn. Annwn was where the content, the stories, of my life would be; the new site, Ravensmeet, would take the chat and forums on Annwn further out and let people of all sorts populate a virtual community far beyond what this, the first site, would offer.

Ravensmeet

Ravensmeet Online Community was born in October 1999. At the time of writing, it is still small, but the idea is to grow it slowly and comfortably, actually allowing people the ability to get to know and care for one another.

People from all walks of life are at Ravensmeet, but they do seem to have something in common: an open-mindedness which is not often found elsewhere. While one of the basic premises of the site is to bring people together who would not normally or consciously form a group, thus encouraging understanding and respect, we do seem to have quite a large number of people who divine in one form or another. Thus, at Ravensmeet you will find a ready-made Divination Club, known as Fool's Journey, and there is room for more specialist Clubs as well: a Rune Club was talked about; it is not beyond the realms of possibility that in time, a separate Tarot Club would form.

Like most of Annwn, Ravensmeet is not a conventional or normal place; it's already showing signs of being very special. It's run on the unusual basis of bringing people together not primarily by interest, but into family "groups", or Clans, where the only thing people have in common, at first, is that they are human. It is a place where people of many different backgrounds and interests come together in an effort to get to understand and know one another... and have fun. It is a place where we try to break down stereotypes and prejudices while building on the idea that people are individuals, not clumps of traits. ;-)

Your invitation

Ravensmeet is geared towards adults. We don't have the backup or experience to cater for people under the age of eighteen unless they are accompanied by parents - something which we decide case by case. Other than that, everyone is welcome and if you find the idea even remotely intriguing, we invite you to wander over to Ravensmeet.

You'll be able to figure out from the Guided Tour whether Ravensmeet suits you; and feel free to ask if you have any questions. Also, feel free to refer the site to anyone for whom you think it might be fun.

Hope to see you soon.
