Never-ending story

Even now, the geas is with me ("May the Geas be with you, Luke!"). Every now and again, it pops up and says hello. I was adopted by the Nor-Cal cruisers, particularly Coveman, long before I got to California; his humour helped me to survive the long, painful wait for immigration to give me a visa. Through that interweaving, my Dad was drawn into the Net and later, through Barbara and hubby in Alaska, my Mam also. When my heating had to be cut off due to a potentially lethal gas leak back in Hitchin, the guys who came to fix it were bikers. And I truly learnt to ride through doing the Landmarks.

Even finding Arnie, my Californian Virago, was wyrd enough: after weeks of searching I let go, and within a day had found the ad with the bike, in the right city and at the right price. I've learnt to stop, smile, and move on after acknowledging the hello from the wyrd. And, in true wyrd fashion, the patterns repeat: at the time of writing, I find myself having just a touch of difficulty getting my California learners permit. But I'm ready to fly now; it'll just be a matter of time.
